Taking Tofino

We made it to Vancouver Island...AGAIN! This time it was during the Christmas holidays as we spent time with the Michalski Family in Victoria and Tofino! It is quite the ordeal traveling with 8 adults... and spending an unexpected 13 hour layover in Calgary made for an interesting start to our trip. Once we made it to the Victoria, it was worth the wait! We started the trip by heading out to Tofino! We stopped at Cathedral Grove for a hike, navigated the icy mountain highways in a snow storm, and SURFED FOR THE FIRST TIME in 5°C weather at Chesterman Beach during the sunset. It was an absolutely magical moment, and one we will never forget!

Well, I guess we can check surfing in the ocean off of our bucket list (but I can guarantee that will NOT be our last time)! After Tofino, we headed back to Victoria to spend time with family and friends. We checked out Goldstream National Park and it ended up having a hidden waterfall that you could only access by walking under a bridge. Definitely a beautiful sight to see!

B.C. is one of those places you can always count on for beautiful nature photos and jaw dropping sights. We are prairie people through and though, but there is something so special and magical about B.C. that keeps us coming back. We are already dreaming about our next surf in the ocean, and next hike in the woods. See you soon Tofino/Victoria!
